Michigan Motorized Recreation Council

Our latest word from Lansing insiders came this afternoon and it was good news and all we can expect at this time.  There was no guarantee of a hearing, or when a hearing would be held for HB 4323.  We can live with the message conveyed.

Senate Majority Leader, Michael Bishop spoke before the Michigan Association of County’s at their convention on the 12th, the question was asked of him, “what about HB

4323”?  His response, “it’s in the percolator and has not risen to the top”. Obviously, there has been some serious discussion about moving the bill.

Those of us very close to the bill in Lansing have plenty to do in our continued efforts to move the bill.  You too, have your part in helping out.

RESOLUTIONS:  If you live in one of the 43 county’s that will be affected by HB 4323, make every effort to have your commissioner’s get the Resolution adopted in support of 4323 and sent in.  It doesn’t necessarily mean, they are willing to open their roadways, but gives them a clear legal option to do so, with local control. Several counties have already sent in their Resolution. Yours could be next. All counties received a sample Resolution in the past few days. E-mails:  If you live in a county south of the southern borders of Bay, Gladwin, Clare, Osceola, Lake and Mason, it is essential that the Senators representing those Districts south, receive your e-mail supporting HB 4323, “as presented”.Your action here is very critical, a must!

We need all the help we can get from you, by working locally in getting the Resolutions adopted by the county commissions and increasing your efforts on the e-mails.  We cannot stress enough the importance of e-mails from those in the downstate Senate Districts. Those Senate votes will make or break HB 4323!   Let us assure you, our e-mail campaign has been very affective.  Keep them going.   It all depends on your involvement!   MICHIGAN MOTORIZED RECREATION COUNCIL public releases are the results of roundtable discussions by the leaders of the major ORV organizations within Michigan, representing over 20,000 ORV users.
